Poster - "Horror"

What is it for? To inform employees and guests about the risks and effects of sunburn in the format of an “old style” movie poster. Offers tips to use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

How can you use it? Post in employee and guest areas.

Poster - "Raccoon"

What is it for? In a humorous fashion, provides a reminder that unprotected exposure to the sun can result in “raccoon eyes” – a condition no longer fashionable and one that places an individual at risk for cancer.

How can you use it? Post in employee and guest areas.

Poster - "Mountain Essentials"

What is it for? Includes sun safety practices (sun screen, sunglasses and a hat) with other safety practices recommended on the mountain and practiced by ski patrol.

How can you use it?

Ski patrol locker room and huts and employee areas.

Poster - "Nirvana"

What is it for? To remind employees and guests that a wonderful day on the slopes can be ruined by getting a “screaming sunburn.” However, this experience can be prevented by sun safe practices.

What is it for? To remind guests and employees to be sun safe: to wear sunscreen, sunglasses or goggles, and a hat.

How can you use it? Designed to be easily placed on poles at lifts and poles that are used to construct lift lines; on snow fences; and on other poles and fence posts at the resort.

Outdoor Sign - "Blue Base Stake Sign"

What is it for? To remind guests and employees that they are in an area with high ultraviolet radiation and that they should remember to wear sunscreen, sunglasses or goggles, and a hat.

How can you use it? Designed to be easily placed on poles at lifts and poles that are used to construct lift lines; on snow fences; and on other poles and fence posts at the resort.

Magnetic Lift Pole Sign - "High UV Day"

What is it for? To remind employees and guests about how important it is to practice sun safety via a reminder placed on lift poles. Reminds them that they are in an area with high ultraviolet radiation and that they should remember to wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

How can you use it? Place on lift poles.

Poster - "Sun-proof Your Kids"

What is it for? To remind students and parents of children enrolled in ski and snowboard schools to provide sunscreen, sunglasses or goggles, and a hat for use when outdoors.

How can you use it? Post in areas where people enroll in ski and snowboard lessons and where parents drop off children for kids’ programs.

Brochure - "Shade Your Day"

What is it for? To teach children about sun safety in fun and easy ways using puzzles and word games.

How can you use it? Provide to children in ski and snowboard schools. Can be used at lunch and during breaks – is a fun and informative activity and can be sent home with children at end of the day.

What is it for? To provide guests with safety information that can enhance their mountain experience. Includes tips on sun safety, hydration, clothing choices, and altitude sickness. Informs guests of the Responsibility Code.

How can you use it? Distribute with reservation materials. Place at information, registration, and guest service areas.

Brochure - "Employee Sun Safety"

What is it for? To inform employees about their risk for skin cancer with an easy, quick interactive quiz. Provides employees with a sun safe goal-setting exercise and recommends sun safe practices.

How can you use it? During weekly safety meetings; at refresher trainings for ski patrol and ski and snowboard instructors; orientations; staff meetings. Can be used in conjunction with, or separate from, the Go Sun Smart training.

Cling - "Add It Up"

What is it for? An easy to read visual reminder to be sun safe by wearing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

How can you use it? Place on windows at ticket booths, on mirrors in bathrooms, in bathroom stalls, and on lockers and/or windows in guest and employees areas.

Employee Training Materials

Employee Animated Training

What is it for? Increase sun protection among employees.

How can you use it? This training will provide your employees with information on the risks of exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV) and steps they can take to be sun safe during their time outdoors. The training can be viewed in its entirety or can be shown in smaller segments by choosing a particular unit. The training is approximately 30 minutes long.

Employee Training

What is it for? Increase sun protection among employees.

How can you use it? The Go Sun Smart team is available at the time of program implementation or data collection visits to train your staff about sun safety and skin cancer prevention. A 5, 20, or 40-minute training session is available. The slides and script are also available to use for additional employee trainings.
